Zamboanga City - Another excellent day for team for the rock solid team BaSC as the results seemed to be pretty good for us today. After an impressive second place finish in Badminton yesterday, the athletes are even more pumped up to gather more medals for the school. The Men's Basketball maintained their scratchless record after escaping a nail-bitting match againts ZCSPC in their first game, courtesy of a clutch 3-pointer by E. Orque in the near end, 79-78. They also got their sweet reveng after trashing defending MASTS Champions, JHCSC, 78-69. Also, the Men's Volleyball joined in the winning lists today, by beating ZSCMST sets to 0, and WMSU, 2-1. It was an exciting match wherein both WMSU and BaSC went deuce after deuce in the last set, but still our team emerged victorious. Also, both Table Tennis and Sepak Takraw teams' campaign ended today, finishing fourth place both in their respective events. Even though not finishing in the medal podium, players from both teams showed undeniable spirit and hardwork in every game they played. One of this day's highlights was the bagging of three silver medals by BaSC Pencak Silat team. It was said that it's the first time BaSC participated on the event and composing this team is mostly first timers also. But still, they showed no "beginner" sign in every bout and work their way hard until the end. And when it comes to the battle of the minds, BaSC Men's Chess team stood best among the others. This four-man lineup under seasoned coach, Mrs. Wilmina Laja, showed everybody inside the Octagon Hall, especially their opponents JRMSU, that they were the bosses when it comes to chess. Naim Salahan, Nasim Eisha, Al-yaser Hadjilon and Halid Hassan made up the roster. In the women's division, team BaSC finished third runners-up againts the same foe and still under the same coach. These championship booked them tickets to National SCUAA, February next year.
