Held on November 9, 2016 at Surigao del Sur State University Cantilan Campus, the Chronicler Editor-in-Chief, Jastine Mar T. Ramos, BSEd, major in Mathematics of Basilan State College got the first place for essay writing competition leaving down the 15 other participants from the different SUC's of Mindanao. The socio cultural coach was the adviser of the same college publication, Whilda S. Hassim. To add, the BaSC Socio-cultural group is headed by the Director for Culture and the Arts, Prof. Nur Hussein Ladjagais. Ramos, persuasively developed an expository essay about the given topic which is The Role of SUC's in Internationalization of State Colleges and Universities.
